Won't that still damage the nails and cause lines after? She used
a softer sander. I don't have thick nails they are already really thin.

yes, it is OK. They do this so that it causes the nail to be a little more porous then usual. This causes your nail polish to stay on your nails longer. it is just like when you sand wood before you paint it.Is it ok for a nail tech to use the drill on top of the nail when she is only going to polish them?
